A regular newsletter and update notifications are two ideas that we are currently very keen to implement.
These will not only inform existing subscribers of updates and improvements as they occur, but will also keep you informed of all planned and in-progress development and improvement work.

Add email alerts for pastors volunteers
for example, if a volunteer is rostered onto an event or team, they receive an email alerting them.

This will certainly be a major enhancement in the new release (v7), and one I’m personally quite excited about.

Export into excel needs simplifying. Mail merge document would be great!
Export into Excel - mail merge is complicated. Make the export easier so that a mail merge can take place more simply. Too many field options. Also, when emailing everyone you can't select multiple email addresses from different sources to do an export into excel.

The reporting (including exports to Excel and PDF) are going to undergo a major overhaul. Simplifying is the name of the game. We want to make it easy to get exactly the information you need.

The development of a new, improved and easier to use front end is already underway.

Deposits
We take deposits for events we do but there is no way to do this in churchworks so we have to setup seperate events for the deposit, full payment and balance outstanding

This is not something that was considered in the existing events implementation. The entire events system is under review and payment deposits and part payments are a feature that we are planning to include in the revised functionality.

There are plans for a major overhaul of the events system and this is one of the many issues that will be addressed.

CW7 will be fully functional on small-format browsers (i.e. on iPhone, Android and other mobile platforms), but at this stage there is no plan to create an ‘app’ for ChurchWorks.
